FAQ
Common questions about COMMIT-OS
Straight answers, based only on what the standard actually says.
Does COMMIT-OS replace my CRM?
No. COMMIT-OS works inside your existing CRM. It adds an evidence layer on top of what you already have — no migration, no replacement. You keep Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive or whichever system you use.
Is COMMIT-OS a sales method?
No. COMMIT-OS is the standard that makes your sales method enforceable. It does not describe how to qualify or work a deal — that is your method's job. COMMIT-OS defines what has to be in place, as proven customer action, before a deal advances in your pipeline.
What is the difference between COMMIT-OS and Clari or Gong?
A different category. Clari and Gong observe existing pipeline activity and predict outcomes based on that data. COMMIT-OS enforces what counts as evidence before a deal enters the pipeline and the forecast. It acts upstream — before the data is recorded, not after. The two approaches can coexist.
Does COMMIT-OS work with MEDDIC, SPICED, Challenger or other sales methods?
Yes, with any sales method. COMMIT-OS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or tied to the owners of any sales methodology. The method qualifies the deal. COMMIT-OS enforces that only proven customer movement makes a deal count.
What does COMMIT-OS cost? What is the certification?
The standard is public and free to read at commit-os.io/standard. The certification is a free knowledge test — 100 questions, at least 80% correct to pass, renewable annually. It can only be earned, not purchased. Those who pass are listed in the public Certified directory.
Is the approach proven?
The principle — evidence-driven pipeline governance — is established best practice, supported by independent research. Gartner (2020) found only 45% of sales leaders have high confidence in their forecast accuracy. The JOLT Effect (Dixon & McKenna, 2022) found 40–60% of deals end in no decision. Ebsta × Pavilion (2024) found that win probability drops by 67% when deals slip past their close date by more than 8 weeks. These are findings on the principle — not COMMIT-OS client results. COMMIT-OS' own client results are not yet published. That distinction is intentional.
